The studio

Arte Salvaje is on Carrer d'Enguera, in the Avenida del Cid area, outside the city-centre circuit. It is a small studio, with eighteen years behind it and three resident tattoo artists.

It has an idea no other studio in this guide has: two days a year they reconstruct the areola free of charge for women who have come through breast cancer. It is not a one-off marketing campaign, it is a practice sustained over time.

Technically, their ground is realism, cover-ups and scar coverage, plus fine line, dotwork, geometric and mandalas. They also do scalp micropigmentation. What their clients repeat most is that they take your idea and hand it back to you better than you brought it in: this is a studio with an artistic approach, not a catalogue.

The drawbacks are ones of scale and of map: it is outside the centre and its review volume is the lowest in the top ten, even if the rating is high. If you are going by public transport, work out the journey in advance.
