How much a tattoo costs in Valencia (2026)
It is the first question people ask and the worst answered on the internet. These are the real market ranges in the city of Valencia in 2026, with the usual caveat: the final price is set by the studio once it has seen the design, the size and the placement.
The shop minimum
Every serious studio has a shop minimum: the figure below which it will not work, because it does not cover costs. In Valencia it runs between 50 and 80 €. That minimum pays for single-use sterile supplies, prepping the area, design time and the regulated disposal of waste. If someone offers to tattoo you for 15 €, the question is not why it is so cheap but what they are skipping.
The hourly rate
Above the minimum, you are billed for time. The usual bracket in Valencia is 80 to 120 €/h, against a national average of 60 to 150 €/h. An award-winning or highly specialized artist charges at the top end, and will almost certainly have a waiting list.
By size
- Small (3–6 cm): 50–150 €. A line of text, a symbol, a small flower.
- Medium (7–12 cm): 120–350 €. Forearm, ankle, shoulder blade.
- Large: 300–1,000 € or more, almost always across several sessions.
- Full sleeve: 1,500–3,500 €, spread over several sessions across months.
By style
- Fine line and minimalist: 60–200 €. Little ink, short session.
- Traditional / old school: 80–300 €.
- Blackwork and geometric: 100–500 €. Solid black eats time.
- Realism: 150–600 € per session.
- Japanese / irezumi: 200–800 € per session, and it is planned by whole body areas.
What should be included
- The design and any adjustments before you start.
- Sterile, single-use supplies.
- The written aftercare protocol: a legal obligation in the Valencian Community, not an extra.
- The first touch-up, at most serious studios, within the first few months. Ask up front.
Three price red flags
- Promotions with no terms in writing. It is the most repeated complaint in reviews of high-volume studios.
- A ballpark quote over WhatsApp without seeing the placement or the final design.
- A price well below the market minimum: someone is cutting corners on materials or on time.
